Occupational Therapy in-Home Evaluation (OTHE)

This is an objective evaluation of an individual’s capacity to perform activities of daily living (ADL) safely and dependably and of the home environment. The evaluation can be used to identify any aids and adaptations that would facilitate performance and independence, as well as identify any rehabilitation needs and maximise safety.

Who is it for?

It is ideal for an individual who is demonstrating limitation in performing the everyday tasks associated with self-care, household chores and leisure.

How the service is offered?

An occupational therapist visits the individual at home and conducts an objective evaluation of their capacity to perform everyday tasks that include self-care, household and leisure activities and an evaluation of the home environment. A report will then be delivered detailing performance capabilities and, if requested, identifying aids, adaptation and possible rehabilitation to facilitate performance, independence and safety.
